ABOUT ME!

Kalixta Easterwood is in the prime of her acting training at the University of West Georgia. She was nominated for the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship for her roles in Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley (Mary Bennet) by Lauren Gunderson, Fuddy Meers (Claire) by David Lindsay-Abaire, and Animal Farm (Squealer) adapted by Ian Wooldridge, and The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong by Henry Lewis, Henry Shields, Jonathan Sayer (Sandra).

Kalixta is currently a candidate for the BFA in Theatre, Acting Concentration at UWG. She is also a candidate for the Musical Theatre Certificate, a 17-credit hour certificate housed in the UWG Theatre and Music programs.

Recently Kalixta was apart of UWG's production of Fuddy Meers by David Lindsay-Abaire. Her character, Claire, has amnesia and the play follows her journey on discovering how she lost her memory.

In addition to the diverse roles Kalixta has been cast in at UWG, she also landed the role of the iconic Roxie Hart in the musical Chicago, for Carrollton Repertory Theatre (CRT)! This role allowed her to put into practice her abilities as a triple threat.

Kalixta has learned a lot from each role she has taken on. From perfecting a Standard English accent to flipping upside while being hoisted up in the air! Her favorite motto during a show is, "The show must go on!"
